Congratulations to Ian Huggan, who has just finished the first season in the latest incarnation of his drag Beetle ‘The Darkside’. Ian runs in the VWDRC’s ‘Alternate Engine’ class with a Subaru Legacy EJ20 turbo engine, joined to an 091 bus box using an RJES turbo bellhousing kit. Boosted with nitrous oxide injection, his ET’’s have been steadily coming down all season as he’s fine tuned the new car set up, ending with an 11.23 second 1/4 mile at 126.76 mph. This will be a car to watch out for in 2007 as it’s got a lot more potential to come yet....
